A reason for this first life/dunya

One of the many, many reasons for this first life is to establish and consequently reaffirm the supreme divine attribute of Allah - his Genius and (emotion-filled) creative ability, and to coax from us the motivation and dedication required to continuously strive for the truth in all aspects of life. Such a reality is part of, and it may be the biggest part of, the factors of decision making when deciding what rank a person deserves, both in this life and the next. For indeed, Allah is Truth and Truth is what elevates a man - not knowledge.
